Colombian Climate



Colombia is in the equatorial area, the mountainous system of the Andes confers to the country a topographical variety that embraces humid forests and tropical plains, until moors and perpetual snow.

Therefore, the climatic variations don't obey stations but to the altitude, and the temperature descends 6° degrees approximately for each 1.000 meters. At sea level, the temperature comes closer to 30° degrees.

SAlthough in Colombia there are not stations and the climate of each region stays relatively stable during the whole year, they show up slight variations when it is the (dry season) or (rainy season). The dry season is usually in December-January and in July-August and the rainy season is in April-May and October-November, although this can vary.
