In 2005 Colombia received foreign direct investment of than 4.000 million dollars, the highest level in the last decade.

The country in recent years has evolved into one of the most attractive markets for investments and businesses. Large multinational companies have their own representation in Colombia and are continually looking for expansion.

In 2005, the sales, coalitions and absorptions overcame 10.000 million dollars.

In 2003, Colombia presented an outstanding economic growth of 4,12%, the highest in Latin America, thouroughly surpassing the average of the region (1,9%). In 2004 the growth was of 4,10%. In 2005 the Colombian economy grew 5,13%.

 

Things gets better year by year

All areas, economical and social are dramatically improving year after year, contrary to many Latin American countries. During the XX century Colombia was able to maintain the inflation controled and it never experienced hyperinflation periods.

In 2004, Colombia registered the lowest inflation in the last 40 years, continuing with a falling tendency since 1999. In 2004 the inflation was located in 5.5%. For 2005, it fulfilled the inflation goal that had aimed the Republic Bank, completely being located in 4.85%.

In fact, it has been the only economy in Latin America that did not have the necessity of restructuring the debt during the financial crisis in the 80's.

Before only few wanted to know about Colombia, because they considered it dangerous and insecure, today everybody wants to participate in our peacefull prospers.

Agricultural products:
Coffee, flowers, bananas, ruffle, tobacco, corn, cane of sugar, cocoa, Jews, seeds oil, vegetables, forest products, shrimps.
