Air Transportation
Colombia has 8 international modern airports used by Latin American, North American and European airlines. During 2003, almost a million entered, half passengers and 450.000 tons of load were mobilized. The growthof air transport in Colombia is growing every day. This is greatly possible due to the 587 airports that communicate the remote regions of the country.


Marine transportion

Due to politics, transport has been privatized and modernized in the four main ports: Buenaventura in the Pacific coast and Barranquilla, Cartagena and Santa Marta on the Caribbean coast. There are other ports which specialize in the export of coal, bananas and petroleum. Cartagena provides the jetty used for tourist cruises.


Road transportion

The net of highways today adds up to more than 145.000 Km of roads that connect the main cities, marine ports, Venezuela and Ecuador. These roads cater to the constant flow of buses and freight. It is projected that the Pan-American road would unite Colombia with Panama, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru. There Is 3.140 Km of railroads in reconstruction and two lines that transport coal to private ports that mobilize 27 million tons a year.
