Modelo de 26 años sufre de una extraña enfermedad la cual causa que todo su cuerpo luzca como el de una anciana.

Sara Geurts, una modelo de 26 años de Estados Unidos, tiene la apariencia de una anciana por la cantidad de arrugas en su piel, pero ¿qué genera esta enfermedad? Según los especialistas la Ehlers-Danlos un desorden del tejido conectivo que afecta el colágeno.

"Mi piel era mi mayor inseguridad pero ahora creo que es lo más lindo que tengo", señaló la modelo.

Geurts es uno de los ocho casos en el mundo que sufren del Síndrome de Ehlers-Danlos, un tipo de dermatosparaxis. Este le impide generar colágeno en su piel, haciéndola hipersensible y arrugada como la de una anciana.

"El colágeno es la proteína más abundante en nuestro cuerpo y es lo que hace que nuestra piel se estire y vuelva a su tamaño original sin dañarse", indicó Geurts.

La modelo utilizó su diagnóstico y su trabajo para enviar un significativo mensaje contra los modelos preestablecidos de belleza.

"Recién a los 22 o 23 años empecé a ver mi cuerpo como algo único, una rareza. El modo en que se forman las líneas, el arte que se forma... Es increíble y me entristece haberme sentido fea en algún momento", indicó.
