Los familiares de los secuestrados están destrozados
Colombia.com (28/Jun/2007): Las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) anunciaron la muerte de 11 diputados secuestrados del departamento del Valle del Cauca en "un fuego cruzado", mientras que el Ejército negó que se debiera a una operación de rescate.

En un comunicado publicado en la edición electrónica de la Agencia de Noticias Nueva Colombia (ANNCOL), la guerrilla colombina, que mantenía a los diputados secuestrados desde 2002, informa de que los políticos murieron el día 18 de este mes "en medio del fuego cruzado cuando un grupo militar sin identificar hasta el momento atacó el campamento donde se encontraban".

En su comunicado, las FARC destacan que uno de los diputados, Sigifredo López, sobrevivió porque "no estaba en ese instante junto a los demás retenidos".


Asimismo, las FARC acusaron al presidente colombiano, Alvaro Uribe, de "demencial intransigencia" para "llegar a un intercambio humanitario", a la vez que afirman que "su estrategia de rescate militar por encima de toda consideración conlleva a tragedias como la que estamos informando".

A ese respecto, el comandante general de las Fuerzas Militares, Freddy Padilla, informó de que la "inteligencia militar no ha tenido conocimiento alguno sobre la exacta ubicación del lugar de cautiverio de los señores diputados del Valle secuestrados por las Farc; por lo tanto, no se ha ordenado adelantar operaciones

militares de rescate".

"De haber tenido conocimiento el comandante general de las Fuerzas Militares de una operación de tal envergadura, se le hubiese comunicado con la debida antelación, de acuerdo con las instrucciones, al señor Ministro de Defensa y al señor Presidente de la República", señala el breve comunicado del comandante.

Por su parte, las FARC afirman en su comunicado que "desde el momento en que se planificó el operativo de retención (de los diputados), así como durante su desarrollo y en el transcurso de estos 5 años, fue prioritario para nosotros mantener la integridad física de todos ellos en medio de permanentes operativos de rescate".

Firmado por el "Comando Conjunto de Occidente" y fechado el 23 de junio, el mensaje de las FARC añade que "en el área de los acontecimientos se desarrollan desde hace varias semanas amplias operaciones conjuntas de militares y paramilitares, lo que ha generado innumerables combates y creciente presencia de fuerzas oficiales".

Las FARC expresan a las familias de las víctimas su "profundo pesar por la tragedia", y prometen hacer "lo que esté a nuestro alcance para que puedan recoger los despojos mortales lo más pronto posible".
