El actor de cine Verne Troyer falleció después de una larga batalla en contra del alcoholismo que le quitó la vida el 21 de abril.

Recordado por ser 'Mini Me', por habr estado en Harry Potter, por robarse el show en distintos realities y por sus diversos escándalos. Verne Troyer falleció en un lugar no especificado, sin embargo, sus compañeros de rodaje y amigos, así lo recordaron:

"Verne fue el profesional consumado y un faro de positivismo para aquellos de nosotros que tuvimos el honor de trabajar con él", dijo Mike Myers, su coprotagonista de "Austin Powers" en un comunicado. "Es un día triste, pero espero que esté en un lugar mejor. Será muy extrañado", acotó.

La actriz ganadora del Oscar Marlee Matlin dijo que estaba "muy triste" por la noticia de la muerte de Troyer.

"Una hermosa sonrisa con cariño y gran corazón, ayudó a recaudar dinero en nombre de @starkeycares para audífonos gratuitos para personas sordas y con problemas de audición. RIP", agregó Matlin, que es sorda.

Además de su papel destacado como el "Mini-Me", un clon diminuto y sin pelo del malvado Dr. Evil de la primera película de Austin Powers "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me", Troyer también era conocido por interpretar a Griphook en "Harry Potter y la piedra del brujo".

It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today. Verne was an extremely caring individual. He wanted to make everyone smile, be happy, and laugh. Anybody in need, he would help to any extent possible. Verne hoped he made a positive change with the platform he had and worked towards spreading that message everyday. He inspired people around the world with his drive, determination, and attitude. On film & television sets, commercial shoots, at comic-con’s & personal appearances, to his own YouTube videos, he was there to show everyone what he was capable of doing. Even though his stature was small and his parents often wondered if he’d be able to reach up and open doors on his own in his life, he went on to open more doors for himself and others than anyone could have imagined. He also touched more peoples hearts than he will ever know. Verne was also a fighter when it came to his own battles. Over the years he’s struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more, but unfortunately this time was too much. During this recent time of adversity he was baptized while surrounded by his family. The family appreciates that they have this time to grieve privately. Depression and Suicide are very serious issues. You never know what kind of battle someone is going through inside. Be kind to one another. And always know, it’s never too late to reach out to someone for help. "Verne era un individuo extremadamente cariñoso. Quería hacer que todos sonrieran, fueran felices y rieran. Cualquiera que lo necesitara, él lo ayudaría en la medida de lo posible", decía la publicación en las cuentas oficiales de redes sociales de Troyer.

"Inspiró a personas de todo el mundo con su empuje, determinación y actitud", añadió.

Troyer vivía en Los Ángeles, aunque no se divulgó ningún lugar de su muerte.
